Disability Insurance "Paycheck Protection"

You rely on your paycheck and disability insurance offers coverage to help you protect it.

What is disability insurance?

Disability Insurance is insurance that will cover a percentage of an individuals salary if the individual is unable to work due to an illness or impairment.  Disability Insurance is often nicknamed "Paycheck Protection Insurance" or "Income Protection Insurance" because it does just that - it protects your paycheck or income in the event of a disability that prevents you from working.

Short term disability will cover an individual for a short period of time.  Typically up to a 30 or 90 day period of time that the insured is unable to go to work.

Long term disability typically kicks in when the insured is disabled for an extended period of time, typically after 60 to 90 days of the initial disability, due to illness or impairment.
